How the Steps-Equivalent Conversion Works
This tool uses MET (metabolic equivalent of task) values from the Compendium of Physical Activities to express the energy cost of sweeping. One MET is roughly the energy you burn sitting at rest. Sweeping light effort is about 2.8 METs, moderate sweeping is 3.3 METs, and vigorous sweeping is 3.8 METs.
